Thunderbirds are go!

Tomorrow morning I begin my 30ish -hour journey to South Africa to race in the Absa Cape Epic MTB race - 9 days, 966km and over 18km of vertical climbing!
My race partner will be the fearsome Dirk from Germany, and together we are team Nordex/Wildside MTB. It's a pretty big race, lots of big names, fully serviced (they cook and set up tents for you), and around 1200 riders - yeehaa.

Check out the race website at www.cape-epic.com

Or a preview of the route on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vmtK1Ackhg

Well these bags won't pack themselves - stay tuned for the next exciting installment on nards online!

Watami,

Great work finishing the race!! And especially your placing! You two seemed to get better as the race went on, maybe you should do another lap..?

2 more weeks of work for me and then I won't be far off joining you.

Suggestions for a more action packed African experience:

1. Swing by Zimbabwe en route to Uganda and vote in their elections, or at least protest against the election process. Free accommodation!!
2. Ride around Jo'burg after dark heckling gangs of youths and then riding off.
3. Drop in and catch up on the goings on in Kenya - why not, they like!!

Toader.
